Nublu – for the safety of homes

Ventures began its journey by selling Nublu – a smart smoke and carbon monoxide detector that alerts you both at home and when you are away. Today, our team has helped thousands of families in Estonia make their homes safer. Behind its simple form, this work carries deep meaning – every detector may one day save someone’s life.

Why is this work important?

Fires and carbon monoxide accidents don’t happen every day, but when they do, the consequences are severe. Nublu gives families peace of mind by ensuring they receive a timely warning and can react. It’s not just a technical gadget – it’s the feeling that your home and loved ones are truly protected.

What does our work look like?

In our sales teams, young people go door-to-door and talk with families about safety. This is exactly how the very first Ventures team started – and this direct, face-to-face experience is still part of our work today. It takes courage to knock, to connect, and to listen. Sometimes you’re welcomed with a warm smile and an invitation inside; other times, the door closes in a second. But every conversation is a chance to make a real difference.

As Artur, who spent one of his summers introducing Nublu and AIKO solutions, described it:

👉 “The biggest surprise was how different people are. Some invite you in before you’ve even said your name, others close the door so quickly you don’t even make eye contact.”

For him, the greatest lesson was the growth in communication skills and the power of mindset:

👉 “When you talk to dozens of strangers every day, your communication skills develop more than anywhere else. I notice it now in my personal life as well. Mindset is the most important thing – if you tell yourself in the morning, ‘Today will be a great day,’ then most often it really will be.”

Who is this work for?

Who leads the sales team?

Olev Kork is an entrepreneur, team leader, and political campaign manager from Tartu.

His journey began on the ice hockey rinks, took him to the United States for direct sales, and then back to Estonia, where he now leads Southwestern Ventures’ sales teams and develops young leaders. In America, he spent three summers selling door-to-door and led teams that achieved half a million in revenue in just a few months. In Estonia, he has built sales teams of over 100 people, brought safety to thousands of families with G4S Nublu solutions, and connected thousands of people with charitable causes.

In addition, Olev is the coordinator and campaign manager for the Tartu Reform Party, leading local, parliamentary, and European Parliament elections in the city. His passion is to create environments where young people can learn leadership, develop confidence, and leave a real mark on society.
